Awesome IEP

Hi! I'm Kaito. I will write about our school life. In this program, we came to UM as IEP students. My class is Begging. My class schedule is this.

In America, class time depends on the date. For example, on Monday and Friday, we have enough time for lunch, but others we have to eat very fast. I have 4 classes: pronunciation, reading, writing, and newspaper(?), on a day. For us, like Asians, pronunciation is very difficult. Sometimes I became mad because I didn't understand their difference in pronunciation. In reading class, the teacher is Marco. He is kind and friendly, everyone likes him. In my class's case, we went to William Faulkner's house. He is a writer, and he got a Nobel Prize. William Faulkner Link: William Faulkner

↑ William Faulkner house

↑ He liked hunting and horse
Writing class gives us a lot of homework, so it is hard. The newspaper class has a funny teacher. She is always in high tension, so I like this class. Out of class, we have a lot of chance to study English. Ole miss has a lot of events for international students. For example, this is a kind of volunteer class.

The native speaker students open these classes, and we can go there for free. Sometimes I went to this class. This is a free class, but there are no students in the classroom. So just I talked with a teacher(student) for one hour. Not class...

By the way, I will write about football game too! It is the biggest event in Ole miss. Before the game, the football fans become crazy. It was very exciting, and very hot!! Last Saturday, I went to football game.
↑ In half time, marching band gives Ole Miss Rebels a yell

↑ Ole Miss Rebels lost California 20-28...

When I bought the ticket, I was very surprised by the cost. It depends on the game, and that game was 58 dollars!! Cost is also crazy...

Today, I'll finish to write. See you later.

Awesome My Best Friend C.M!!!!!!

Hello, I am Koichiro. It is very hot in Oxford, MS.
Today, I will write about my best friend I made here, C.M.
I met him at the Pizza Party.
He was sitting alone, so I talked to him. He was so kind that he talked with me even though my English was so bad and couldn't speak so fluency.
After the party, we promised to go swimming in the gym the next day.
I went to the gym and I thought we would swim together, but it was not true.
He taught me how to swim seriously. omg
I've swum with him almost every day since then. Now he is one of my best friends.
I sometimes eat dinner with him. He is a good guy, and half American and half Mexican.

  9/13-15 Canoe Trip
I applied for the canoe trip and on this trip, I didn't know anyone.
I was quite nervous, but many members talked to me.
So I could relax and made many friends.
On the first day, I went to go camping by the river.
On the next day, I went to canoeing and went down the river for about 6 miles.
On the final day, I went hiking and became super tired.
The trip made me brave and I want to go camping again with my friends.

9/14 Game Day. Ole Miss Rebels defeated Southeastern Louisiana 40-29!!!!
Koichi went to the game again and sent me a picture. (I did not go:( )
I want to go to a football game, but maybe also I cannot go this week...

9/15 Zara Larsson Free Concert. There was a concert by Zara Larsson in the Grove.
Koichi went to the concert and sent me videoes. (I did not go :( )

Awesome Football & Junk foods !!!!

Hi!! How's it going? I'm Koichiro. I'm in Mississippi. Summer in Mississippi is hot and dry. I have stayed in the United States for three weeks. The American football game is the biggest event in this week. Ole Miss Rebels home game started yesterday (September 7). There is a grove in the University of Mississippi. About 100,000 fans who wear red came to the grove around noon before the game.
I was surprised at that because I didn't know that American football is the most popular in the United States.
Before Ole Miss Rebels game

Ole Miss Rebels VS Arkansas Razorbacks

The result: Ole Miss beat Arkansas 31-17 !!!

Today, I will write about American foods. Almost of the foods in Mississippi have high calories. There isn't much of an opportunity to eat vegetables in daily life.
Most of the foods are pizza, sandwiches, and burgers. However, I'm not tired of these foods. So I will introduce what I have eaten after I came here.

Panda Express & Raising Cane's

McAlister's Deli & Chick-fil-A

McDonald's

                                                                       Starbucks?
That's it. Thank you for checking this blog.

Awesome Ole Miss!!!

What's up!? I'm Koichi!
These days, I am so busy and have a lot of stuff to write about my experience in Mississippi, so I cannot write all the things happened to me. Of course, you know I made many friends, so I won't write about that. I always forget taking pictures, taking notes and exchanging contacts with new friends. Lol

8/24 Memphis bus trip. The international students of UM went to Memphis, Tennessee. First, we went to the National Civil Rights Museum and then we went to a shopping mall, Wolfchase Galleria.

After that, we went to an international grocery store and I bought Japanese foods; 3 bottles of barley tea, Umeboshi, and ramen. After I came back to the dormitory I live now, I ate the ramen with Kaito and Koichiro(from Akashi College) and it was really tasty.
↑Kaito, are you doing well???

8/25  I went to Walmart, and I cannot remember what I did. Lol

8/26-8/30 My IEP(Intensive English Program) level is Advanced. Maybe my English skill is the worst in my class, I thought that on the first day. I have 4 classes every weekday except Wednesdays and got a lot of homework. In the classes, I did discuss some themes, reading aloud some books and articles of newspaper, and writing stories and essays.

However, 8/29 was special, because I went to Vaught–Hemingway Stadium(American football stadium) in the 3rd class. It was very huge and has about 64000 seats.

Next week, Ole Miss Rebels will have a home game, so I am looking forward to seeing the game.

8/31 In the afternoon, I went to Color Run!!

It was really exciting and I was glad to make many American friends but I became very colorful(means dirty).
↑I found Koichiro and took his photo but I forgot to take my photo. Lol

9/1 I went to Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia with my friends; Omani, Japanese(not Akashi College student), Pakistani and a girl from West Bank. In Atlanta, we went to Six Flags(https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia).

First, we rode this one(https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/attractions/dare-devil-dive) and then went to Water Park(https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/hurricane-harbor/overview).
After that, we rode this one(https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/attractions/superman-ultimate-flight).
It was very fun.

After Six Flags, we ate steaks for dinner and went to downtown in Atlanta.

I ate Pizza with Spanish friends!!

8/20 I made many friends; Tanzanian, American, Indian, English, Scottish, Bangladeshi, so many Chinese and Korean. I ate a taco with many friends.
I forgot to take pictures. This is POPCORN!!!!

8/21 I made many friends; Mississippian, Korean-American and so on.
I took a placement test and had lunch with a Finnish friend. I went to Oxford Square with Korean friends!!!

8/22 I made many friends; Mississippian, Tennesseans, German, English, Australian, and New Zealander. I ate McDonald's with a Korean friend and ate gelato with the friends I made on this day.

8/23 I made many American friends and ate lunch with a German friend.
It is raining now, so I will watch movies with my friends!!!

I haven't studied anything here yet, so I can't tell about that. These days, I'm trying to make many friends and talk with them. I always talk to someone; for example, while taking a walk, waiting for something(TB testing, buses, coin laundry), eating lunch and so on.
Their English skill is better than mine, so I get nervous every time I talk to them. However, all of them are always so kind to me. Using English makes my English perfect, so we don't use Japanese. I'll never give up!!

BE POSITIVE!!!!
